Services for Nelson McKinley Baird, 77, who died Saturday, April 23, in Electra Memorial Hospital were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday April 25 in the James B. Totten and Son Memorial Chapel. Officiating was Rev. George Wilson, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church of Electra. Burial followed in the Electra Memorial Park under the direction of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ralph Delashaw, Howard Jones, Bill Robb, Glenn Miller, Waid Robinson, and Herbie Adams.

Mr. Baird was born February 15, 1900 in Henrietta, Texas. He came to Electra in 1948 from Abilene, Texas. He retired in 1970 after 54 years service as a station agent with the Fort Worth and Denver Railway.

He was a member of A.F.& A.M. Masonic Lodge No. 1067 and a past member of the Electra Rotary Club. He was also a member of the Christian Science Church in Vernon.

Survivors include his wife, Martha of the home; two sons, Nelson of Venus, Texas, and Charles of Mansfield, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Flusche of Electra; two brothers, Wilford of Oak View, California, and Jimmy of Mesa, Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Faye Havens of Aurora, Colorado, Mrs. Myra Brinkman of San Bernardino, California, and Mrs. Maurice Foust of Farmington, New Mexico; and six grandchildren._

Mrs. Martha Catherine Baird, 92 died Sunday, August 8, 1999 in Electra.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 10 from the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Medley, pas­tor of First United Methodist Church, Electra, Texas. Inter­ment was in Electra Memorial Park, under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Elec­tra.

Mrs. Baird was born July 28, 1907 in Arlington, Texas. She and Nelson "Ned" Baird were married March 3, 1933 in Sil­verton, Texas. She was a mem­ber of the First Presbyterian Church of Electra, a member of the Presbyterian Women's Or­ganization, Electra Music Club, Longtime elder and member of First Presbyterian Church and was church organist until 1986. She was a graduate of Trinity University in 1929. She was a school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Nelson "Ned" Baird in 1977; one son, Nelson By­ron Baird, Aug. 2, 1999 and one granddaughter, Tracy Baird, November 1994.

Survivors include one son Charles Baird or Vernon, Texas; one daughter, Sylvia Flusche of Electra; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren.

Memorials may be American Diabetes Association, Austin, Texas 78704 or North Texas Rehabilitation Center, 1005 Midwestern Pkwy. Wichita Falls, Texas 76302._
