He married Anna Mae Hester on May 2, 1940 in Stephenville.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He sat on the bench of the 29th District Court in Stephenville for 16 years, from 1953 until 1969. He was a champion of the individual's private rights.
He was the son of Judge W.J. Oxford Sr. and Myrtle.
William Oxford Jr.'s children were William and Ann Marie.
