John H And Lucinda Mitchell Bought This Land 1640 Acres, January 3, 1856 And Moved The First Cotton Gin From Georgia To Upshur County. They Grew Cotton on This Land And Hauled It To Jefferson To Market On Ox Wagons. Lucinda Mitchell Was The First One Buried In This Cemetery.
