Sarah FORBES Sutton was the daughter of Alexander B. FORBES and Temperance “Tempy” MOORE Forbes who moved to Ellis County Texas from Jackson County, Alabama.Sarah was called Sully by her family but her real name was Solly, she was the mother of 5 sons and 1 daughter, and the beloved wife to Solomon Dill Sutton and mother of Fountain Duke SUTTON, Sr., buried in Beckham County, Oklahoma.
They migrated from Alabama with Sarah's brother and parents. The FORBES family made their way to Ellis Co., Texas, and the SUTTON family to Somervel County.
Their son Fountain Duke SUTTON married Martha Mattie Ida ELLISON and they settled in Walnut Springs, Texas, where my grandfather, Alfred Howell Sutton, was born. Solomon and Fountain made their way from Texas by one of the Oklahoma Land Runs, and settled in the area of Roger Mills, Oklahoma then to Carter, Beckham, Oklahoma, about the time of Sarah FORBES Sutton's death.
