Funeral services for Charles Wesley Cox, 21, were held Monday, August 16, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro. Dr. Roy Spore officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro under the direction of Huff Funeral Home.
He died Friday, August 13, 2004 in Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
Born July 1, 1983 in Sherman, he was the son of Chuck Cox and Susan Baum Cox. He was affiliated with First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro, and was a waiter at Chile?s Restaurant.
Survivors are his parents, Chuck Cox and Susan Baum Cox of Whitesboro; grandparents, Charles and Waunema Baum of Whitesboro, and Mary Perkins of Whitesboro; 3 brothers, John Cox and wife, Angela of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mike Cox and wife Adrian, of Carpenteria, California, and Casey Zhoril of Deanville, Texas; 2 sisters, Christi Strange and husband, Jason of Whitesboro and Leah Johnson of Corinth; 2 nephews, Noah and Cade Strange; and 3 nieces, Ruby Marie Cox, Chloe Cox and Emily Cox.
Pallbearers were Chad Watson, Brandon Watson, Derek Ethridge, Jason Strange, Kevin Garvin, Derek Cox, Phil Harris and John Dickson.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or the Wilson N. Jones Hospital Foundation.
