Martiniano Trevino, 61, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in El Campo Alto, Alamo, Texas, Mr. Trevino had lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg.
Mr. Trevino was a Vietnam Veteran and served his country for eight years. He worked for Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department as an investigator for the past 29 years.
Mr. Trevino devoted his time not only as a service man, but as a volunteer at his church and at the Edinburg I.S.D. Bobcat band booster club, as well as the EHS and Robert Vela High School football booster.
Mr. Trevino was a loving and caring father, husband and friend to many; he was always known to care for others more than himself. Mr. Trevino will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Felipe Trevino.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, July 11, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg.
Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
