T/5 Frederick L. Thigpen, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Thigpen, Graham, attended Graham School. Entered Army, 1943, trained at Ft. Warren, Wyo. and Camp Claiborne, La. Served in France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany. Awarded GCM, Victory, EAME with 5 Battle Stars, Merit. Unit Citation and 3 foreign service bars. Discharged in 1945. Re-enlisted for 3 years.
