Elma lived most of her life in the Young and Jack County, Texas area. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Graham.

Survivors at time of death included one son, Garry Armstrong and wife, Barbara of Graham; one grandson, Garry Lynn Armstrong and wife, Cindy of Norman, Oklahoma and one sister, Dorothy Burnett of Jacksboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Babe Armstrong in 1998 and by three sisters and a brother.
