Records for this man can be found under Names: Mel, Melvin, Melville and Chi
Came to Texas in 1880 and bought land. He paid for it in 2 years. Went back to Missouri and got his childhood sweetheart and brought her back to Texas. After he death in 1897, he married Laura A. Middleton on 28 Apr 1898. (Source family bible)
