Gerald E. "Bill" Weed, 74, of Clyde, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Abilene Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ross Cemetery Annex in Baird. A visitation will be Monday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th Street.
Mr. Weed was born in Putnam, Texas on July 30, 1937, to the late Marvin and Norma Morrison Weed. He and Wanda Simmons were married in 1961. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Weed of Clyde; a son, Michael Weed and wife, Elaine of Green River, Wyoming; a daughter, Lissa Hurlburt of Dallas; a daughter-in-law, Paula Weed of Abilene; two sisters, Norma Gay Beitscher and husband, Seymour of Abilene and Lois Ann Evans and husband, Jesse of Lake Dallas; four grandchildren, Jon, Chris, Melissa and Cassie; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Weed was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald Weed Jr.; and a brother, Marvin Chester Weed Jr.
