John Nathan Poe, 65, Stanton, widely known in ranching and trading circles of this area for a quarter of a century, collapsed and died almost instantly here Wednesday evening.
Mr. Poe, who had been interested in the Big Spring Livestock commission company for years, was in the ring with his sons, J. D. Poe and Gerald M. Poe, Stanton, and A. L. Cooper, a long time associate. He had just sold some cattle at about 7 p.m. when he suddenly slumped. His sons, who were within an arm's length, rushed to his aid. Mr. Poe, however, apparently had died instantly.
