PETERSBURG - Rebecca Rogers, 61, of Petersburg died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003. Services were Sunday, Nov. 30, at First Baptist Church in Petersburg, officiated by Rev. Tom Griffen. Burial was in Petersburg Cemetery under direction of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Mrs. Rogers was born May 10, 1942, in Turkey, Texas. She married Keith Rogers on April 8, 1960, in Turkey. She worked for the Petersburg School District for over 35 years as a business manager. She was a volunteer for My Fathers House and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Those surviving include her husband, Keith Rogers of the home; a daughter, Jayne Rogers of Petersburg; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Thornton of Lubbock, and Brian and Nancy Rogers of Eastland; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Thornton; nine grandchildren, Neely Rogers, Robby King, La Tasha Rogers, Misty Thornton Conger, Sarah King, Cagney Rogers, Marci Mulkey, Cheyenne Thornton, and Zachary Mulkey; and a special family friend, Cinnamon Niemen. Memorials may be sent to My Fathers House.
