Joseph "Chris" King, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005.

He was born July 29, 1932 to John Herbert King and Minnie Foster King in Midland, Texas. Chris graduated from Midland High School in 1950. On June 6, 1952, he married Clara M. Coleman in Midland. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955. Chris worked with his father at Continental Oil Company and had also worked at Midland 66 Oil Company. He was a farmer and rancher, and had worked for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Chris was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Midland County Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Foster King.

Chris is survived by wife of 52 years, Clara King of Midland, TX; daughter, Jodie K. Presley and her husband, Ricky, and their children, Jennifer Presley and Christopher Presley; daughter, Christine "Christy" Wright and her husband, Greg, and their children, Brandy Foster and husband, John, and their son, Bracken, and Windy Gallagher and her husband, Dusty, and their son, Carson; daughter, Cynthia J. Hall and her son, Joshua Hall; brother, Shorty King and his wife, Lavena; sisters, Nonnie Walcott, Sue Krupa and her husband, Eddie, Barbara Johnson and her husband, Joe; numerous nieces and nephews.
