Woodrow W. Heidelberg, of Midland, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007.
Born December 5, 1916 to Nathan L. Heidelberg and Cora M. Jackson Heidelberg, Woody was raised and educated in Midland, County. On January 1, 1938, he married Eugenia Bell. He was employed with Texaco for 37 years and was farming and ranching in Midland County and Glasscock County until the time of his death. Woody was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and was also a 32nd degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joe, J.W., Nathan "Buddy", and Farrah, and sisters, Cora, Alta, and Mona.
Woodrow is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eugenia Heidelberg of Midland, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Hoppy and Pat Heidelberg of Blanchard, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Wilson and Sharon Heidelberg of Midland, TX; son, Norris Heidelberg of Midland, TX; grandchildren, Houston Heidelberg, Alisa Heidelberg, Heather Heidelberg-Gipson, Brad and Becca Heidelberg, one great-grandson, William Calvert "Cal" Heidelberg, and one great-granddaughter, Happy Gipson. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Virginia Nall for the loving care that she has provided and Juan Trejo Resendiz, ranch foreman, for his many years of faithful service to "Mr. Woody".
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Sunday, June 24, 2007 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 25, 2007 at Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Wayman Swopes officiating. Pallbearers will be J. W. Heidelberg, Jr., Nathan Heidelberg, Tommy Heidelberg, Sam Heidelberg, Haley Heidelberg, and Walker Dunn. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Eugenia Bell Heidelberg, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Manor Park in Midland.
She was born October 4, 1921 to Nancy Melissa Winfree Bell and Joseph Bell, III in Martin County. She was raised and educated in Martin County. On January 1, 1938, she married Woody Heidelberg. They were married for 69 years before his death in 2007. Mrs. Heidelberg was a homemaker and helped her husband ranch in Midland and Glasscock Counties until his death. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Winfrey Bell and N.J. Bell; sisters, Lillian Heidelberg, Evelyn Carpenter, Velma Heidelberg, Joy Bell and Dora Jean Nosker.
Eugenia is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Hoppy and Pat Heidelberg of Blanchard, OK, Wilson and Sharon Heidelberg of Midland, TX, and Norris Heidelberg of Midland, TX.; grandchildren, Houston and Sheila Heidelberg, Alisa Heidelberg, Heather Heidelberg Gipson, Brad and Becca Heidelberg; great-grandchildren, William Calvert "Cal" Heidelberg and Happy Rylan Gipson. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Virginia Nall, Belia Bonilla and the staff of the Younger Center at Manor Park for the loving care that they provided and to Juan Trejo, ranch foreman, for his many years of faithful service.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 1:30 P.M. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Wayman Swopes officiating. Pallbearers will be Houston, Alisa, Heather and Brad Heidelberg, grandchildren of Mrs. Heidelberg.
