Ingram Gafford, 94, of Jacksboro died Tuesday, Dec 27, 2005, at Jacksboro. Funeral services were Thursday, Dec, Dec 29, at Church of Christ in Jacksboro with Bud Hales officiating. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Mr. Gafford was born Oct 3, 1911, to the late Paul and Ella (Montgomery) Gafford. He married Virginia Gray on Jun 30, 1940, in Lawton,, Oklahoma. A retired auto parts store owner, he was a member of the Church of Christ and Jacksboro Lions Club, and had served many years as alderman on the Jacksboro City Council.
He graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1929 and was honored last October during Homecoming as the oldest active alumni.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gafford, Aug 19, 1986, and a sister, Lillie Belle Blacklock.
Survivors include two daughters, Gynelle King and husband Rick of Pampa and Carolyn Gafford; a son, Sam Gafford and wife Doris of Runaway Bay; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
