December 30, 1858 - May 24, 1944

On December 17, 1872, during the Sutton-Taylor Feud, Mack was present at his father's store and was a witness to Brown Bowen murdering a drunken Thomas J. Haldeman by shooting him in the head. Bowen would hang for the murder but desperately tried to blame the murder on John Wesley Hardin.
