Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Glen (Bob) Runyon, 62, of Omaha, were July 22, 2014, at the Concord Missionary Baptist Church of Omaha, with the Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Mr. Runyon was born December 26, 1951, in Gainesville, TX. He died July 15, 2014, at the Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant. He was a journalist for several newspapers in the Northeast Texas area and served as a sportswriter for The Monitor during that time. He was a member of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the David Elliott Masonic Lodge, the Lions Club, the Associated Press, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a Promise Keeper. Preceding him in death was his mother, Delores Gunn, Survivors include his wife, Saundra Runyon of Omaha; his father and step-mother Kenneth and Mildren Runyon of Plano; a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Melissa Runyon of Omaha; a daughter, Samantha Gray of Omaha; two brothers, Michael Runyon of Vilseck, Germany, and David Runyon of North Carolina; two sisters, Debbie Fellwock of Plano, and Delores Anderson of Canton; numerous other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers were Mac Dees, Michael Jarvis, Ricki Hodges, Rick Hull, Josh Pilgreen, and Oran Cato. Burial was at the Concord Cemetery of Omaha under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Naples.
