Jason Andrew Bernauer relocated to Heaven and met his dad Robert Louis Bernauer on July 9, 2017. Jason was a wonderful Christmas gift for his sisters Cindy Lou age 8 and Donna Gail age 7. Jason was born at 8:25pm on December 24, 1964 at the Irving Community Hospital in Irving, Texas. His proud parents were Robert Louis Bernauer and Nina Gilbreath Bernauer. Jason was the first grandchild of the late Charles Adolph Bernauer and Cora Russell Bernauer Mitchell and step-grandfather Clinton Mitchell, and Charlie Horace Gilbreath and Tay Piper Gilbreath. Jason was baptized by Father Robert C. Rehkemper on January 8, 1965 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving, Texas. Jason was a precious child much beloved who needed special care. At the age of 3 he attended Helping Hands School in Irving. He loved playing on the backyard swing set, with his sisters and their friends, going to the girls soft ball games and outings to Lake Lewisville. At age 9 Jason moved to McCall's Chapel Residential School in Ada, Oklahoma. He enjoyed frequent visits home and to his grandparents. At age 17 he moved to Skyview Living Center in Denton, Texas. In 2012 he moved to Cimarron Living Center in Lewisville. The last few years Jason was a client of Bettyes Healthcare Network, Inc. and shared a home in Arlington with two other gentleman. A Graveside Funeral Service officiated by Deacon Gelasio Garcia of St. Mary's Catholic Church was held at the Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas on Wednesday July 12, 2017. Jason is survived by his mother and stepfather Nina and Jerry Dalla of Kerrville, sisters and husbands Cindy and Mike Winter of Lewisville, Donna and Mike Vance of Irving, niece and husband Lauren Winter Katri and Bryan Katri, nephew and wife Jared and Shana Winter, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason's family is thankful and appreciative of the loving care given to Jason by so many over the years.
