Funeral services for Carroll Gene Burgess, 72, of Gainesville are set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25th at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 24th at Meador Funeral Home.
Mr. Burgess passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 16, 1944 in Gainesville, Texas to Ernest and Dorothy (Case) Burgess. Carroll married Mary Muller October 2, 1968. He had served in the National Guard and was employed by the city of Gainesville in the fire department and sanitation department. He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Burgess; son, Carroll Gene Burgess, Jr.; brother, Gary Burgess; sister, Tammy Garner; granddaughters, Kenzee Nickerson and Mia Paul; uncle, Leroy Case; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Gail Burgess and nephews, Brandon Burgess and Ryan Burgess.
