THORNDALE --- Funeral services for Glenn McDaniel, 55, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Locklin Cemetery in the San Gabriel community. Rev. Larry Griffith of First Baptist Church in Thorndale officiated.

Mr. McDaniel died Tuesday, Aug. 12 at is home. He was a Rockdale resident for the past 17 years, having spent most of his life in the Thorndale and San Gabriel areas.

He was born May 24, 1942 in San Gabriel to Pat Joe Abner and Ellnora Elizabeth (Fuessel) McDaniel. He worked as a forklift operator for Royal Seating in Cameron for 10 years and at Rockdale's Alcoa Operations for 17 years. He married Florence Evelyn Holt on April 14, 1994 in Cameron. He was a member of San Gabriel Baptist Church in San Gabriel.

Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his mother, Ellnora Elizabeth McDaniel on Oct. 9, 1995, and by a sister, Joanne McDaniel.

He is survived by his wife, Florence McDaniel of Rockdale; Three sons, Gary Dale McDaniel of San Gabriel, Allen McDaniel of Taylor and David McDaniel of Pflugerville; two daughters, Glenda Marrett of Austin and Shawn Williams of Taylor; his father, Pat McDaniel of Thorndale; a step-daughter, April Lane of Austin; three brothers, Jerry McDaniel of Thorndale, Ervin McDaniel of Rockdale and Keith McDaniel of Bryan; three sisters, Patricia Wiseman of Copperas Cove, Karene Willis of Brenham and Jeanine Kelm of Thorndale; six grandchildren, Jamie Garza, Justin and Joey McDaniel, Jennifer Martin. Joannie and Barbara Fitzgerald; and two great grandchildren, Cyeyenne Nicole Martin and Christian Garza.

Pallbearers were Gene Nadeau, Thomas Polk, Bob Billings, Kelly Meyer, Ervin McDaniel and Paul McNeil.
