When Sydney Wadsworth Thornley was born on September 28, 1906, his father, William, was 43 and his mother, Sarah, was 43. He married Marjorie Patricia Flower in December 1931 in Lancashire, Lancashire, England. They had two children during their marriage. He died on March 8, 1985, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 78, and was buried in Carrollton, Texas.
