Wash was a 55 year old farmer living in Precinct Five in Houston County when he passed away from acute tonsilitis and strangulation on kerosene oil. He was seen by Dr Charles Hill, who practiced in Grapeland.
Wash was married to Pearl Burns, the son of Ernest and Martha Burn, per John Denby informant on his death certificiate.
