When Robert Grant Gentry was born on December 20, 1891, in Italy, Texas, his father, Robert, was 31 and his mother, (Mary), was 27. He married Maudie L (Leona Maud) Grace in 1915. They had eight children in 13 years. He died on June 10, 1959, in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 67, and was buried there.
