Mr. James Clayton Brazzil, age 71 of Crockett, passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mr. Brazzil was born December 27, 1938 in Houston, Texas and was a resident of Crockett most of his lifetime. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served four years during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. Mr. Brazzil was a member of the Good Shepherd Fellowship where he served as a board member and usher. He had retired after 20 years of service from Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he worked as an Industrial Supervisor. Mr. Brazzil had also worked as a truck driver for Dolly Madison Industries for 10 years and Don Harrison for 7 years.
Survivors include his wife of 47 ½ years; Norma Pyle Brazzil, of Crockett; sons Clay Brazzil and wife April, of Crockett and Jason Brazzil and wife Michelle, of Montgomery; grandchildren Ashlyn, Jase, Dayne and Trace; special adopted son Rene Guerra and wife Liz and their children Rene Jr., Crystal, Eric, Nicole and Daniel, all of Cleveland; sister Virginia Barnett, of Vidor; step-sisters Vivian Reed, of Austin, Joyce Lowery, of Trinity and Gloria Reed, of Houston; four nephews; and one niece.
Preceded in death by his daughter Crystal Lea Brazzil in 1978; mother Ann Oleta Brazzil Reed in 1963 and father James Loly Brazzil in 1940.
Funeral Services for Mr. James Clayton Brazzil were held Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ottis Byers and the Rev. Bob Thompson officiating. Interment followed in the San Pedro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Fellowship Church, 401 South Seventh Street, Crockett, Texas 75835.
