Mr. Durwood Lynn Bristow, Jr., age 53 of Crockett, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in the East Texas Medical Center-Tyler. Mr. Bristow was born August 21, 1956 in Calexico, California and was a resident of Crockett. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Bristow had worked as a caseworker for the Department of Human Services and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Crockett.
Survivors include his wife Christine Bristow, of Crockett; daughter Kristie Parrish and husband Brian, of Huntington; son Charles Durwood Bristow and wife Fawna, of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren Levi Parrish, Harleigh Cassandra Parrish, Raegyn McKayla Parrish, Madison Leann Reid, Ashton Matthew Reid and Sofie Leann Bristow; parents Durwood Lynn, Sr. and Janice Bristow, of Coronet; sisters Sharon Luanne McMillan and husband James, of Tyler, Cynthia Irene Thrailkill and husband Jimmy, of Madisonville; brother Roy Durwood Bristow, of Tennessee Colony; mother-in-law Mary Canning, of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his brother Michael Phillip Bristow in 1961; father-in-law Charles Canning in 2001 and father-in-law Walton Ellis White in 1972. Funeral Services for Mr. Durwood Lynn Bristow, Jr. will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. James McMillan officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
