Funeral was held Thursday morning at Wells Funeral chapel for William Martin Horton, 86, retired farmer who died Tuesday evening at his East Ridge home after a four month illness.
The Rev. A. L. Patterson of the Fundamental Baptist church officiated. Burial was in the Double Mountain cemetery at Peacock beside Mrs. Horton, who died in November, 1924.
Mr. Horton had lived in this section for 20 years.
Surviving are a son, C. R. Horton, Spur; three stepsons, V. O. Guess, Peacock; Claude Guess Deming N. M.; Emmett Guess, Salinas, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Velma Dansby, Union, Miss.; Mrs. Ollie Glass and Mrs. Viola Cooper, Sweetwater; Mrs. Sylvis Sandlin, Hico; Mrs. Essie McDonald, Redlands, Calif.

William Martin Lee Horton was born on August 12, 1860. He married Martha Talula "Lula" Morris on July 9, 1908, in Taylor, Texas. They had six children in 21 years. He died on September 3, 1946, in Sweetwater, Texas, at the age of 86.
