When Thomas Jefferson McCarley was born on August 6, 1879, in Farmersville, Texas, his father, William, was 35 and his mother, T., was 23. He married Carrie Ada Brister in 1899 in his hometown. They had four children in 13 years. He died on February 11, 1915, in Stonewall, Texas, at the age of 35, and was buried in Peacock, Texas.
