Lewis T. Hafley Rites In Gause

Lewis T. Hafley of Gause succumbed from a heart attack shortly after entering a Hearne hospital Monday evening. Mr. Hafley had been recuperating at home for one week from a previous attack when he became ill and was rushed to the hospital.
Mr. Hafley was 49 years old on December 31, 1960, having been been in Gause on December 31, 1911. He was a carpenter for the Alcoa Plant at Rockdale.
FUNERAL services were held from the Gause Methodist Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mr. Brown of Rockdale officiating.
Burial followed in the Gause Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: G. R. Varner, Rip Woods, N. A. Romine, Bill Gause, Joe Moore and Bob Orr.
Mr. Hafley is survived by three sons, Floyd Hafley of Orchard, Don and John Hafley of Gause; a daughter, Miss Norma Hafley, of Gause; one grandchild, Sandra Kay Hafley, of Orchard; his mother, Mrs. Ola Hafley, of Gause; a brother, Rufus Hafley, of Gause; and four sisters, Mrs. S. G. Gaston of Bryan, Mrs. W. D. Sadler, Mrs. J. B. Wilson and Mrs. N. D. Anderson, all of Houston.
