When John Wesley Rash was born on September 24, 1913, in Peacock, Texas, his father, Abel, was 24 and his mother, Rosa, was 23. He had two brothers and one sister. He died on May 17, 1969, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 55, and was buried in his hometown.
