Eugenia "Genie" Stuckey (my paternal grandmother) was born on 20 December 1868, in Miller County, AR, the daughter of Alexander & Melvina "Viney" Winifred Short Stuckey. On 24 January 1901, Eugenia Stuckey married Oliver Marshall Blount, in Miller Co., AR. He was a widower with five boys, ranging in age from almost two to fourteen years of age. He was living in Texas, on the Panola/Rusk County line. Genie instantly became the mother to these boys who grew to love her dearly. She and her husband later had two sons and one daughter of their own. This combined family always said "there are no halves in this family". All siblings were close to one another for as long as they lived. Genie died from cancer on 14 April 1921 in Jermyn, Jack County, TX, where she is buried in Graceland Cemetery.
