When William M Ford was born on May 2, 1848, his father, Solomon, was 24 and his mother, Rebecca, was 25. He married Martha Ann (Mattie) Thigpen and they had seven children together. He then married Mattie Thigpen on June 24, 1876, in Lavaca, Texas. He died on September 15, 1921, in Peacock, Texas, at the age of 73, and was buried there.
