When Charles Duane "Butch" Donges was born on February 15, 1947, in Vernon, Texas, his father, Joseph, was 31 and his mother, Frankie, was 26. He married on May 27, 1970, in Wilbarger, Texas. He had one child during his marriage. He died as a young father on October 14, 1972, in his hometown, and was buried there.
