When Thomas "Tom" Henry Turkett was born on November 7, 1901, in Melissa, Texas, his father, James, was 26 and his mother, Alice, was 27. He married Lillie Reeves on June 7, 1925. They had two children during their marriage. He died on November 1, 1975, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 73, and was buried there.
