When Clifford Rue Herring was born on January 12, 1907, in Texas, his father, James, was 22 and his mother, Nallie, was 19. He had one daughter with Wilma Elizabeth Herring. He then married on December 10, 1968, in Parker, Texas. He died on March 17, 1991, in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 84, and was buried in Carrollton, Texas.
