SHAW, James of Gause & Rockdale. Age 79. Died 1/17/1987 (Sat.) at the VA Hospital in Temple after a long illness. Services held (Monday) at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Sandy Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Sparks and Rev. Bill Crowder officiated.

He was BORN 2/14/1907 at Port Bolivar to M/M. Ossie Shaw. He was a retired carpenter. Married Norris Rae Story on 9/3/1927 in Milam Co. Preceded in death by his wife in 1952; daughter, Elsa Rae Crowder Mayes; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Veteran of WW-2, having served in the U.S. Navy from 4/27/1944 until 2/20/1945.

SURVIVORS: 2 sons, Billy Gene Shaw of Houston, Jimmy Wayne Shaw of Ennis; daughter, Mrs. Ura Joy Kornegay of Gause; 2 brothers, Delmo Shaw of Gause and Ossie Shaw of Cameron; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lila B. Cass and Mrs. Cleo Green, both of Gause; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
