John Henry Lowery was born on May 19, 1914, in Aberdeen, Mississippi. He married Ayeria Mae Young on February 4, 1939, in Idabel, Oklahoma. They had two children during their marriage. He died on February 14, 1995, in Lewisville, Texas, at the age of 80, and was buried in Carrollton, Texas.
