Obituary of Chick Whistler
Chick was called to heaven by our lord on Friday May 4, 2012 in Flouwer Mound, TX with his two sons by his side. He was born on February 12, 1947 in Ft Worth, TX. Chick was a retired successful business man in the Dallas area who loved to play golf, hunt, and watch his Texas Rangers. He attended Corsicana High School where he helped his football team to an undefeated season resulting in a State Championship in 1963. He later went on to play football Northeast Louisiana until he left there to join the forces of our U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His greatest accomplishment, however, was meeting and marrying his soul mate Lynda and proudly raising his family in Carrollton, TX for many decades.

Chick was preceded in death by his father John Derald Whistler of Brownsboro, TX, his brother James Clifton Whistler of Plano, TX, and beloved wife Lynda Jean Whistler of Carrollton, TX. He was also preceded by a brother-in-law, Mike Jones and a sister-in-law, Gwen Swinney. Chick is survived by his loving sons, Wade Whistler of Lantana, TX and Colby Whistler of Carrollton, TX. Daughter-in-law Courtney Whistler, grandson Owen Whistler and granddaughter Lyndey Whistler. Mother Othell Inman Hunt, half sisters Tammy Smith and Lisa Collom, and numerous other close family and friends.

Viewing will be held on Monday May 7, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and the funeral services will be Tuesday May 8, 2012 at 11:00 am. Both the viewing and the funeral will be held at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, TX. Burial to follow funeral service in Carrollton. Friends and family will be invited to join in celebration of Chick’s life at the home of his son and daughter-in-law Wade and Courtney Whistler in Lantana, TX.

WHISTLER, LYNDA, 52, passed away, November 23, 2004. She was born on August 5, 1952 in Corsicana, TX. Lynda attended and graduated from Henderson High School, where she was crowned Miss HHS. She would go on to attend SFA. During this time she met and married her husband, Chick and moved to Carrollton. From this union, two of her greatest accomplishments were born, her sons. Lynda was a wonderful and perfect wife, mother, sister and friend. She was generous and loyal, always there for her family. She never missed a game or a practice and her selfless actions set a high example for all who knew her. Her family was her proudest and most honored gift. She worked alongside her husband and sons, at the family business, ACT Precision Sheet Metal. Lynda is preceded in death by her father Doyle Jones. She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories, her husband of 31 years, Chick Whistler; her two adored sons, Wade and Colby Whistler; mother, Jean Jones; sister, Gwen Swinney & husband, David; brother, Mike Jones; father-in-law, John Whistler; mother-in-law, Othell Hunt; brother-in-law, James Whistler & wife, Jane; niece, Ashlee Watts; nephew, Brent Stanfield; special family friend, Rick Zullo and numerous family members, friends, and loved ones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 26, 2004 from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2004, 1 PM, at Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel.
