Obituary

BYKER, BRAD S. went to be with Jesus on June 7, 2004. Born December 13, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, to Gene and Marilyn Byker. He was raised in Palatine, Illinois and received a scholarship to play soccer at Illinois State where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He relocated to Dallas where he met Chanda at Brookhaven Country Club. They were married on October 13, 1990, and resided in Carrollton. Brad owned and operated Byk Computers. He was a deacon, small group leader and children's leader at Farmers Branch Church of Christ. Brad also coached his son's baseball and soccer teams and was himself an avid golfer, hockey player and softball player as well as enthusiast of numerous other outdoor activities involving his family. Survived by Chanda, his loving wife of 14 years, son, Dakota Gene, and daughter, Bailey Patricia-his children were his pride and joy and nothing less than two gifts from God. Brother, Scott Byker, and wife, Nancy, parents-in-law, Norman and Patricia Douglas, brother-in-law, Lloyd Douglas, and wife, Michelle, nephews, Blake and Tyson, and niece, Taylor. Preceded in death by his father, Gene, and mother, Marilyn, and nephew, Canyon Douglas. Brad will be forever remembered and admired for his love for his family, his generous servant's heart, his status as a scratch golfer and ability to fix anything, and for always living life to the fullest. Visitation Wednesday from 5:30 - 9 p.m. at Sparkman-Dickey Funeral Home in Dallas, funeral services Thursday at 11 a.m. at Farmers Branch Church of Christ with a graveside service following at Hilltop Memorial Park.
