When Guy E. Hilliard was born on February 29, 1904, in Hamilton, Texas, his father, Andrew, was 42 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 39. He married Mabel Idella Smith on April 21, 1928, in Haskell, Texas. They had three children during their marriage. He died on October 24, 1973, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 69, and was buried there.
