When Elmo Clifford Shannon was born on September 25, 1909, in Fort Worth, Texas, his father, Sherman, was 32 and his mother, Florence, was 25. He married Beverly Ann Lynn in 1947 in Electra, Texas. He died on December 21, 1982, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 73, and was buried in Bryan, Texas.
