After moths of wearying sickness, the spirit of quiet, gentle, good and amiable Mrs. Sarah Weed Bickett was called from earth to its heavenly home. She was 75 years of age, daughter of the late Mr. Andrew J. Weed, of sainted memory. Born and reared near here and for many years a member of Long Cane church, under the pastorate of Dr. H. T. Sloan, of precious memory, but at the time of her death she was connected with her own church at Minerva, Texas, where she, with her children, moved seventeen years age. Her greatest desire was to come home to die. She was one of eleven children, all of whom have passed away except one sister, Mrs. Mary Drennan, of our village, who in the eveningtime of life has much sympathy in her sorrow. But then the parting will soon be a reunion of a loved family, where no more tears are shed. Mrs. Bickett leaves two daughters and a son, all in Texas, and many grandchildren. She was a woman of many noble virtures, modest, tender hearted, hospitable, strong of purpose and devoted to her family. Her influence for good was remarkable over all who came in contact with her. It was delightful to be with her in the home, where her will was supreme by love.
