When Vollie Cleveland Cagle was born on February 9, 1912, in Paris, Texas, his father, John, was 21 and his mother, Alice, was 20. He married Nettie Belle Byers Cagle on November 14, 1935, in Wilbarger, Texas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on September 19, 1981, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 69, and was buried there.
