When Fred Eugene Emmett was born on August 9, 1902, in Green Forest, Arkansas, his father, Perry, was 23 and his mother, Martha, was 18. He married Saphronia Pansy Langley in 1925. He died on September 4, 1990, in Wilbarger, Texas, at the age of 88, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
