When Joseph Isham Arnold was born on April 12, 1881, in McLennan, Texas, his father, James, was 43 and his mother, Frances, was 37. He had five children with Sarah Ann "Sadie" Quisenberry. He died on May 31, 1954, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 73.
