Obit:
Surrounded by her beloved family, Georgia Ann Earl passed away on Monday, June 24, at her home in Seminole, Texas. She is preceded in death by her mother, Annie Bell Liles; her father, George Liles; her late husband, Lewis Strube; and her granddaughter, Stacey Baxter.
Georgia was born in Ashmore, Texas on October 6, 1934 to George and Annie Bell Liles. One of five children, she is survived by her four siblings and their loving spouses: Jo Bridges and her husband Bill; David Liles and his wife Jean; Jane Halbrooks and her husband Johnny; and Ms. Jonnie Elliston. Georgia was a ray of light to everyone she knew, and her wit and intelligence shone just as bright as the warmth of her smile. As the graduating valedictorian of Loop High School’s class of 1952, she excelled in all aspects of her academic studies and could often be found playing numerous sports, including track, basketball, softball, and cheerleading. After attending business school in Lubbock, Texas, Georgia studied at New Mexico Junior College, earned her B.S. in Nursing from the University of the Southwest, and went on to serve as the Director of Nurses at Seminole Memorial Hospital until her retirement in December of 1992. She was an active member of her community and attended South Seminole Baptist Church for many years, where she loved singing in the choir and serving at Vacation Bible School in the summertime.
In December of 1955, Georgia married her late husband and first great love of 15 years, Lewis Strube. Together, they had three beautiful daughters who have gone on to find loving spouses of their own: Kerry Strube Hoover and her husband Tommy; LuAnn Strube Barbee and her husband Steve; and Lisa Strube Davis and her husband Charles. In 1974, Georgia married Donald Earl of Cyril, Oklahoma, who became her best friend and devoted partner for the next 45 years. Together, they spent countless hours playing golf and going deep sea fishing in Port Aransas for several months each year. In this union, Georgia was blessed with three more daughters from Don’s previous marriage. She will be dearly missed by Donnette Earl Fox and her husband Mike; DeDe Earl Sipe and her husband Matt; and Denee Earl Baca and her husband Robert.
Georgia lived a full and beautiful life, but many would say that her ultimate joy was being “Mimi” to her 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is survived by Blakley and Beth Davis and their daughter Mellie; Sarah and Paul Hrebicek and their son Rivers; Charlea and Joe Muñoz; Samantha Hoover; Hannah Barbee; Kylee and Andres Sigcha; Kendra and Jake Woodruff; Jeff and Shelby Fox; Kris and Shannon Fox; and Greg and Christa Baca. She will always be remembered for her joyful spirit, contagious laugh, and selfless love.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at South Seminole Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, Georgia’s family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 1-800-272-3900 or https://www.alz.org. Boyer Funeral Home is honored to have been called upon to serve.
