Funeral services for Calvin A. Berry, 86, of Seminole, Texas will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at South Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
Mr. Berry passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Desert Garden Assisted Living Center in Hobbs, New Mexico following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 27, 1920 in Durant, Oklahoma. He married Dorothy Hodges on August 29, 1945 in Lubbock, Texas and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Mr. Berry was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church and worked as a roughneck in the oilfield. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and two sons.
Pallbearers will be Austin Bates, Braxton Bates, Scotty Berry, Derrick Berry, bobby Berry, Tanner Berry, Daniel Dunaway, and Darren Dunaway.
Survivors include 3 sons, Charles Berry and wife Lynn of Hobbs, New Mexico, Ron Berry and wife Vickie of Seminole, Texas Don Berry and wife Mary Jo Russell of Levelland, Texas; 2 daughters Carol Reid and husband Roy of Andrews, Texas Tammy Bates and husband Ricky of Seminole, Texas; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
