Wayman Alan Cooper of Bedford (September 9, 1939 - August 19, 2013) was born in DeWitt, Arkansas to Wayman Alan Cooper Sr. and Eunice Rousseau.

After graduating from Jesuit Preparatory School in 1957, he attended Southern Methodist University and the University of Dallas. He married Wanda Mangum, his high school sweetheart, in 1958. An avid pilot, Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was a current member of Good Shepard in Colleyville, was very involved with his 'small church group' and enjoyed his weekly lunch group where aviation was the regular topic of conversation.

An independent businessman who owned Cooper's Service Corporation and R&L Plating Company, Alan was the National President of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association as well as serving on the boards of the Irving Community Hospital Foundation and InterFirst Bank.

Alan is survived by his wife Wanda; daughters Susan Jones and husband Ted of Dallas; Stephanie Herrington and husband Mike Moore of Denver; sons Scott and Steve of Dallas; sisters Jackie Dunn and husband Tommy of Grand Prairie; Julie Kline and husband David of Frisco; brother Greg Cooper and wife Kathy of Eddy; seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
