When Lester Wayne "Bud" Howel was born on October 3, 1904, in Texas, his father, James, was 28 and his mother, Lucinda, was 22. He married Velma Copeland on August 18, 1934. They had three children during their marriage. He died on December 14, 1959, in Levelland, Texas, at the age of 55.
