Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Kelly Russell. Troy was born Monday, June 7, 1920 in Oklaunion, Texas; he was the son of the late Herman Clement and the late Oma Starnes Clement. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Shearer on March 11, 1946 in Vernon, Tx, she preceded him in death on February 16, 2008. Troy was a 1937 graduate of Oklaunion High School. He attended Syracuse University in New York in 1946. He served two tours in the US Air Force, retiring as a Major in 1980. He worked at the former Vernon Manufacturing Co., Inc. for 28 years, retiring as President and General Manager. He served many years as Advancement Chairman and Counselor for Boys Scouts of America. He was a member of the Wichita Lodge #35 Order of the Arrow. He was awarded the District Award of Merit. He was a long time 50 pulse years member of First Baptist Church and the Smith-James Sunday School Class. He is survived by His Son Dr. Boyd Clement of Cuchara, CO. He is preceded in death by his wife, a son Bret Allen Clement in August 15, 2001. Memorials can be made to the Troy Family Scholarship, Vernon College or to a favorite charity.
