Funeral services for James Allen Abbott, 66, of Seminole were conducted Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel with B.J. Robinson officiating. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. He passed away Tuesday, January 29 in Seminole.

James was born November 13, 1952 in Andrews to Ward Allen and Lahoma Peterman Abbott. James and Renee Goodger were married May 19, 1996 in Seminole. He graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock, and was employed as an electrician for Zach’s Electric in Denver City. He is preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren and a daughter Jennifer Gabrielle Abbott.

James is survived by his wife, Renee Goodger Abbott of Seminole; one son, Chad Allen Abbott and wife, Brooklyn of Dallas; two sisters, Inatte Rider and husband, Ronnie of Durango, Colorado, and Christy Torres and husband, Joe of Andrews; along with a grandson, Knox Allen Abbott of Dallas; two step-daughters, Madalynn Goodger of Seminole and one grown step-daughter; one step-son Cameron Goodger of Seminole and three grown step-sons; along with six step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
